Bikepacking across Europe, second week. This week has been less about making kilometres, but more about discovering the culture and traditions of Hungary and taking some time off to process my emotions, make some necessary budget and planning and give a rest to my muscles. The beginning of this bike packing adventure has been filled with emotions, both good and bad, but I am so happy I overcame the overwhelming feeling of giving up I had in the first days. Every minute has been really worth it.

During this second week of cycling, I reached two of my highlights for Hungary: visiting Budapest and swimming in Balaton.
Budapest is such an amazing city, worth its name as the pearl of the Danube and after leaving and biking through the heat and dust, I was really happy to cool off by swimming in lake Balaton.

After leaving the Danube in the previous week and until Budapest, the roads were quite difficult, so I was really happy to meet on my way some segments of the eurovelo cycling network.

With this week, I getting closer and closer to the Slovenian border, where another big milestone, but also challenge awaits, but more of that in next week’s video!

    2. Hey 👋, I really hope you enjoyed this second episode of (probably) the biggest adventure of my life. Can't wait to show you the next ones. How is the bike friendly is your home country? 🚲

    3. Amazing episode, love your content and editing as always. Why not setting up a patreon account? I'm sure some people would want to support your content – I would…!

    4. Hi, this series are awesome, the quality of the footage is great, it has cheered me up alot, i am anxious to try out bikepacking myself, i am still in the phase of figuring out the setup, i plan on taking 2 weeks next spring/summer for some test tours, but what i wanted to ask you, as you mentioned the budget, what is within that budget? do you need an accomodation every other night to clean your clothes or something like that? how did you plan your budget?

    5. Hi , I’m really enjoying your videos on this bike packing adventure. A couple of observations…
      1. When washing your clothes just take them into the shower with you or simply usd the sink. I’d dry them by using the bath towel. Roll them up really tight and then use your body weight to compress the water out of the clothes into the towel. Presto they’ll be much drier for airing.
      2. Tyres, I can’t recommend more highly the Schwalbe Almotion Marathon. I used these in the tubeless version for over 4200km in Europe from July to October 2022 without a puncture.
      3. Bike shorts – I used bib & brace shorts without over shorts. Reduces friction between the layers and also on the skin. Chamois cream only once a day. Choice of saddle, whilst personal, is also important.
Very motivated by your own adventure. Keep on going 😊
