Hi, I am from Australia and grew up eating my Grandmothers Gramma pie, but sadly when she died years ago there was nobody left to take on this role so I am going to see if I can bake it myself. I can't get gramma's anywhere but I think it is pretty much the same as Pumpkin, good you tell me if there is much difference, and I have only ever had Gramma pie with Sultanas or raisins in it. Thanks.

It's 10 months later, and it's again getting to be that Merry time of year 2024! Fun learning your 'cheffy' version of an American classic it looks delicious! Candied pecan's yum! I'm American I love to use fresh pumpkin, I don't add whipped egg whites to mine.
pumpkin pie time again! this time, i'm going to roast the pumpkin a week ahead. make enough for 2 extra pies (can always make more pies or use in other dishes and freeze the lot. am tired of tiring myself out in 1 day 😅
four-five tablespoons of maple syrup for you is less than one tablespoon of olive oil <3

Just made this today OH MY LORD im happy i did this is autumn in a pie pastry was on point and the batter light and fluffy a perfectly balanced pie great with a coffee. I did put it on the middle shelf in a tin 180° 45mins will definatly make this again. Great recipe 👍

pastry:
butter 150 g
flour 300 g
pinch of salt
icing sugar 50 g
zest of 1 orange
1 egg (free range)
filling:
cooked pumpkin 400g
sugar 175 g
double cream 100 ml
vanilla 3 tsp
cinnamon powder 3/4 tsp
ground ginger 1/2 tsp
allspice 1/4 tsp
nutmeg 20 gratings
3 eggs, whites and yolks separated
pinch of salt for whisking the whites
180C, 45 minutes.
I’m going to be giving this as go today, will be roasting the seeds and using them in the praline instead of the pecans
