Dirt biking and greenlaing in the UK is becoming harder and harder with people complaining and having lanes shut down. I jumped on my KTM 300 enduro bike, hit some local lanes to ask people what they actually thing of this hobby and if it should stay. These interactions just prove that everyone is different with different thought on the situation but i am hoping that continuing with this will help show that we can all enjoy the countryside at the same time.

I’ve met a few a holes while Green laning
Again I commend your efforts mate👍
It's just unfortunate the large group of 🔔ends are going to undo it in one ride, doing all the things other users hate about bikes🤬
Legend, he needs a Rieju Marathon 125 pro and a TRF membership!
We really like what you’re doing here. It’s a refreshing new angle on the subject. Well done 💯
You’re a great Ambassador for the lanes … I did not realise how close you are, I recognise those lanes around Blue Bell Hill , Maidstone. I’m from Gravesend, keep up the good work… 👍
Am not a biker but well done shame not more like you I think you be good teaching youngsters safe riding as some are so silly and some kill themselves
Taking the idiot and illegal riders out of the equation. People who want to walk in nature are spoilt for choice of places to go and enjoy the countryside on designated footpaths if they are that concerned. BOAT are in the minority.
Dont walk on a BOAT expecting to see only on foot traffic and feel annoyed when you see motorised vehicle users 🙄 Its like moving near to an airport and complaining about the noisy planes.
10s of thousands of miles of footpaths to use and we still get moaning and hating about the few that are still open to vehicles…. as for the far too fast quote , well that is a matter of perspective and a very easy brush to apply with zero responsibility – also, nobody asks them to jump out the way, and all they need to do is carry on in the direction they are travelling, the funny thing about bikers is we tend to know how to get from A to B. It's not all people though, in fact i still find it's about 8 from 10 who are nice, depending on the area i suppose this changes but up north and in wales that is my experience in over 20k of miles riding byways
I used to encounter some of these attitudes when I had a Disco 2 and went green laning over in the Yorkshire dales with a group of friends. Some of the ramblers were quite vocal and hostile. Our group never went off piste. But as you say, there are idiots in every hobby. We did explain to some ramblers that because we are in a metal box, we took all our litter with us. Additionally we could be in a position to render aid to walkers who may get in trouble.. alert the emergency services and or give people lifts down the lane where applicable. This also begs the question what happens when a person is too infirm to walk the BOATs .. they can still have the opportunity to enjoy that bit of countryside via a 4×4. An excellent, well reasoned video. Cheers
I’ve been riding green lanes since the early 80, in that time I have seen loads of these routes closed. It’s a shame really because if you are respectful and ride in a sensible manner then there should be no problem at all. I am fortunate to live in North Yorkshire, up here we have some of the most amazing lanes that cross the moors and dales. Being a member of the Trail riders fellowship in your area is a great thing to do, meet like minded people and get access to the legal routes. Great video.👍
We all enjoy the countryside and get a sense of freedom and tranquility from it I’m sure. With greenlanes they are in fact a road though. You wouldn’t walk down then middle of a paved road then complain about vehicles being on it surely? If you really don’t want to bump into any traffic then go on a bridleway or footpath? There’s not that many greenlanes in comparison. To ride we have to by law be on a BOAT which obviously is open to ALL traffic. To complain about that seems ridiculous to me, I get there’s some people that tear arse around but that’s the individual you need to be upset with not ALL users.
These people need to stay off what is legally a road if they have the opinion you shouldnt be there.
