Please Read the full description.
The Circuit of Clermont-Ferrand, also called Charade, was inaugurated in 1958 and hosted its first F1 race in 1965. Its layout is mountainous so it twists and undulates around two extinct volcanoes with no real straight apart from a short one at the start.. Its infrastructure located on a mountainside, as well as the track full of gravel and volcanic flint, created many problems for the drivers.
This is its full story.
Please note that I mentioned Ivor Bueb dying some days after crashing at Gravenoire in the F2 car race in 1959 but I ended forgetting to mention that Marcelin Herranz died in 250cc bike practice in 1963.

At 14:42 there is a tree on the upper left that looks like a giant Allied soldier coming over a ridge.
Thank you for work on this video. It's fascinating.
I'm surprised tha Stewart, as safety conscious as he was, had such complimentary things to say about the course.
I would not want to try to make up time there! Another of the best racing videos anywhere. Thank you so much!
👍👍👍🐻👍👍👍
I. Love. This. Track!
I wish I was born at a time of its full glory.
Track maps don't do justice for these long tracks. But a lap sure does. Thanks.
I drive this historic track with historic 60's/70's racing car models in Assetto Corsa which is quite challenging and great fun. Thanks for the Upload!
Jochen Rindt, who won at Charade in 1970 preferred to drive there with a helmet without visor in case he started to feel sick due to the twists and turns on the track.
