There will be bullet train BG – NS with 27 minutes ride , next year, and NS – SU with 35 minutes ride , another year.

Here is what you can eat. "Stuffed peppers" ma favorite dish. If you like fish order "paprikaš" that is stew. If you like cabbage try "sarma". For sweets try "lenja pita". "Strudla" is also popular in north serbia.

The town of Sombor is just about 60 km away from Subotiza and is well worth visiting, though the biggest and most beautiful edifice there (Zupania) is currently under rennovation. A single day visit could be sufficient unless you want to explore the surrounding area, especially one to the west where the Danube river is.
The interior of the Town hall building is also very beautiful and can be entered with a ticket. You can even climb up the tower.
Subotica has a huge history (just like the rest of Europe) but this place was controlled by a Slavic tribe and Celtic tribes even before the Hungarians. The first forms of Slavic statehood emerged in this area. 🙂
