If you’ve seen my latest videos, you know, that I struggle with riding my bike in the past months. Cycling got very scary at some point, because of recurring dizziness. After a lot of doctor visits in India and Germany, we finally found the cause. What looked like a physical problem, turned out to be psychosomatic. So here we are, starting cycling again from zero and rewiring, reconnecting to my biggest passion.
I was lucky to be in Germany for some weeks, to start over on my trusted gravel bike, cycling on known gravel routes and enjoying the solitude in nature. A perfect place for a reset.

Hey!, glad to watcha a new video from U!!!, from a Rider in Panama.
Thank you so much for sharing your travels. I especially love to see your beautiful Germany. Very sorry to hear of your struggles, though looks like some excellent progress, hang in there you got this, definitely (re)routing for you =P
Get well soon! I hope you make a good and quick recovery!! I like your cycling videos and love cycling my self. But even if you don´t or if it takes longer don´t worry you will probably find another passion! 🙂👍
Get well soon. I think riding alone in quiet place can be some kind of therapy. I usually ride alone every second week, distance around 120km, some section is through quiet wooded area. When I started out sometime I would get scared. What I did was I would stop and close my eyes, tell my self the universe is kind to me, wait till my fears subsided and ride on. This might sound crazy to some of you. Now I almost never get the panicky feeling.
Get well soon it's good to ride alone but riding with others are ok especially if you become ill on a ride
Get well, take care. Hope you're better soon! 🙂
I had this dizziness in my job as a Programmer. In my case it was a proper burn-out. My personality is a bit weird, I'm the "all-in" type and after a while I'm exhausted. The only way to deal with it is to stop and find a new thing for a while or for ever. Don't burn bridges but just let some time pass so enjoyment comes back or another profession becomes your future.
Great video, lasse gerne ein Abo da😀
Thanks so much for sharing this side of cycling! I have been dealing with similar problems lately and it has been incredibly exhausting when you feel anxious and constantly need to keep your mind and your thoughts under control. I'm glad that you talk about this and it gives me hope to see that I am not alone with this and that it will become better. I wish you lots of strength in your recovery!
I hope you recover and get well in all aspects. Very sensible to just have bite size rides. You have typical English summer weather there.
The calm before the storm.
I always enjoy your vlogs. Hello, from Canada.
So good to see you again, and I hope you regain your positive feelings for riding your bike. Some of these mental states can come from us ignoring our intuition, but I think lots of these states are from the mind just trying are to sell us all kinds of silly nonsense that is not really true.
I wish you all the best, and much love and peace to you lovely soul. Namaste
Have you tried indoor trainer? Just to get your brain to not think about riding but just get used to the act of sitting on a bike and nothing thinking about it.
You're going through life-changing events, it's perfectly natural to have anxiety. Hang in there and keep riding. I really enjoy your Brandenburg/Berlin videos.
So good to see you getting back out on the bike again and pacing yourself as needed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ride with us 🙂
Thanks for the video. Hope you get well soon. I had Labrynthitus on two occasions which made me extremely dizzy. I couldn't stand for days and couldn't ride my bike for 6-8 weeks. I tried and kept falling off! I was very distressed since cycling meant a lot to me. But gladly it went completely eventually. Beautiful cycling routes in your videos and it looks like you are recovering so good luck
