Controversy, late goals, red cards and more VAR…the Premier League is back!

Ben is joined by Tom and Watto to look back at the weekend’s action starting with the big moment at Molineux as John Stones scored a late winner for Man City against Wolves…

Should the goal have stood? Was it a foul by Bernardo Silva on Jose Sa? The boys give their say on this HUGE moment for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Elsewhere, Liverpool returned to the top of the league standings with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea, whilst Arsenal slipped up as William Saliba saw red in a 2-0 defeat at an impressive AFC Bournemouth!

There was big wins for Spurs, Manchester United and Brighton, plus Ben and the team discuss whether Aston Villa are the real deal after another victory, this time at Fulham.

There were some big W’s for the teams at the bottom with Jordan Ayew scoring a 98th minute WINNER for Leicester at Southampton and Sean Dyche’s Everton made it four matches unbeaten with a win at Ipswich.

There’s all that and the big TFFI Quiz so stay tuned to see who comes out on top!

    1. Goalkeepers need to start running through players blocking them at corners, refs won't call a foul on the keeper and will stop the little guys doing it again

    2. I started watching on my phone and I thought you were in jail so I had to wait to see if it looked better on my computer but it actually looks worse. The red fairy lights look about as budget as budget gets and the wood panelling is too much. Dave looked very uncomfortable sitting in the box. Plase go back adding a few plants and football posters will not help this look. I feel for your brother but who looked at this and said 'result' ……..aghhh it's so bad.

    3. While Dalot definitely should've done better and he was very lazy on his marking, I think we can't be too harsh on him. He's always marking the back post on corners, so having to suddenly mark the opposition's biggest threat is a big difference from what he normally does. If de Ligt was on the pitch for that corner, Pinnick wouldn't have had that free run and they wouldn't have scored. Those medics should be fired. lol

    4. I'd agree with Ben that Brighton have gotten a bit lucky so far and they'll definitely see a fall-off later on, as they have in the past few years. Very lucky against United, Arsenal fans will say it was an unfair result against them because of the "unjust" red card, the Spurs implosion, and this Newcastle game. Against the bigger teams they've been fortunate and they run it close with the mid-lower table teams (Wolves, Ipswich, Forest).

    5. No idea what Ben is on. That Man City 2nd goal was a goal all day long (and I cant stand city). Football is not a non-contact sport. Keeper has to be stronger and not be so soft. After growing up with Gaelic Football, players can take contact, jump and catch. A little nudge is never a foul.

    6. Re. Salibas RC. Some weeks its 'too far from goal to give it' from the refs. Then its suddenly 'letter of the law'. When the ref initially gave the yellow, where is the clear and obvious error that needs correcting?

    7. There needs to be a much higher bar for Red cards, they literally ruing the match, 5 red cards, the 4 teams that got them all lost (apart from villa who got theirs while 3-1 in the 94th min)

    8. Also not a big fan of the set (although it is not completed), preferred the couches and coffee table. Made it feel as the guys were/are one of us discussing the game. The set makes it look like you are a panel of pundits. But, lets make the final decision when it is completed.

    9. Bournemouth fan, I thought it was a clear red but in all honesty.. the correct decision is whatever the ref gives should stand. Its easier to accept human error then ( professionals) sat behind technology getting it wrong.. it feels more corrupt when var gets involved and it goes against you. Also… Ben white had no chance catching up mate lol… sorry ♡

    10. Definately agree with watto on the red card if ref is looking at VAR he doesn't care if ben white has max pace , all he would be looking at , is or is not a red card

    11. I was going to comment on how wrong Fozzy is on Stones goal and City being boring but after reading all the comments on the state of the set, I have to say 'terrible set lads'
