I just bought a used 2023 Roscoe 7. I’ve snapped the chain twice, the first time I put it back together with a chain breaker and was planning on replacing it but took it out again before I replaced it and it snapped. What are your chain recommendations? Also, could this be caused by a worn cassette?

The top of the cassette looks pretty worn imo but I’m no expert also could be breaking the chain wrong have you tried using quick links instead of a chain breaker?
Chains are pretty strong until you put torque/twisting motion on it under load. Do not shift when you’re heavily weighting the pedals, ease up (shift early for hills) and shift and then apply power.

Shimano chains won’t hold together if you put back the pin that came out, you need one of the [long install pins](https://b2174463.smushcdn.com/2174463/wp-content/uploads/0c82fb2705eab1ab28a09455df9e53aebdd7de2a.jpg?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=0).
I’m over sixty years old. I’ve never broken a chain. Ever. In my shop, I sell KMC chains. They’re just fine and fully compatible with all drive trains.
The quick link is probably a better way to connect your chain after it has been broken, intentionally or due to a failure.
