On my way from Sagres to Porto I am fighting against massive headwinds which were driving me completely insane. Luckily I bumped into Patrick, another bikepacker so we were 2 warriors in this battle!

When we said good bye to each other things got worse. I lost my wallet had flat tires and lost my temper completely….

  1. oh yes!!! Portugal is pretty windy up north! EV1… lol… I did almost the same route 3 years ago… from Faro to Santiago de Compostela

  2. Great video young lady! I did have to laugh some! 😂 You’re doing great and I admire you! What you are doing is tough! Keep it up! 🚴🏻‍♀️👍💪

  3. When I shout at my tires like this I mostly tend to make another hole in the tube… and then I do get even more mad. And then somebody recommended me the pathfinder pro from specialized and it is a very good tire… maybe a tip for you. Who knows…

  4. You’re such a winer, stop complaining….Cycle touring is 70% hard work and 30% bliss, find the bliss. BTW, it is not about Kilometres cover, it’s about the experience and serendipity you find.

  5. The wind that you caught is called "nortada". When the days start to get warm, the combination of the hot air from the continent and the cold air from the sea creates this wind 🙁
Sorry for the comments that you heard in Lisbon. There are some retarded people there. It seems that day leave in a cave.
You could have caught the trail to Fátima and Santiago de Compostela near Lisbon. Very nice trail always marked with arrows and a lot of times away from the cars. And you will have always "albergues" in the way. Every 5 to 10 km apart. And with a very nice price.
    Have a nice ride 🙂

  6. Really liked the content. Allama Iqbal said Don’t fear the intensity of opposing-wind*, O’ Eagle

It only blows to help you fly even higher." So dont listen to these comments. Do what you are doing.

  7. I want to know about solar pannel you are using. can you give us a review of it? You said you edit videos on the go. are you carrying your laptop with you. How you manage to charge it on the go?

  8. I am so sorry, I am laughing my head off at your frustration, I get so down on myself when it seems like one thing after another and I’ll lose it. Thank you so much for showing the human side. I love your videos.

  9. You are crazy adventurous brave and smart. Oh and you love riding bikes 😊 I just had to subscribe. Bless up and keep enjoying your life. It’s very inspirational

  10. Tough ride. You are one of my heroes.

Flats are no fun. One year I had 37 which works out to 1 flat every 10 days.

I now have a speedier way to remove and install tires to fix flats. There are several videos about this tool on YouTube. It is the Crank Brothers Speedier tire lever. While it is possible to fix a flat with one tire lever, I like to use 2 levers. The removal can be done with 1 lever pretty simply but 2 levers makes installing easier.

I know some rim/tire combinations are very tough to remove the tire but I have used this tool with many different tires now. And because of my history with flats I have changed tire brands and I usually use some very thick tires and tubes just because I hate flats.

  11. From a fellow bikepacker – Great riding. Please don't get mad about the guys telling you stuff or the flat tire or other; just go with the flow as you said, and try to enjoy the moment. The great thing is not just getting there, to your destination … it's the journey to get there soi enjoy as much as you can. Always be safe and good riding.

  12. oi chika, you have birdnest on head and white socks in slippers , du verrückter Ápfelstrudel.
Thanks for the laughs . Good memories about the ferries, they make a welkom break from cycling.

  13. I was thinking I am the only one who cuss like a mad woman. You are going to hard, and you need to give yourself a break. You are a strong woman, keep kicking ass. I am just an old Grandma in the States, move on little lady.
