So I finally got my hands on some 203 mm rt800 brakes for my Roscoe 7.

The plan after getting some much needed help from this. Subreddit was to fit these new rotors go for a test and see if I needed to actually upgrade the caliper system over the winter.

However, I can't seem to get these to fit, however, I know other people on this forum have fitted these rotors to their Rosco 7 and I'm just curious if I'm doing something wrong.

I don't want to start trying to slam things into place so I'm wondering if I have something misaligned or if somehow I actually don't have the right rotor or maybe this bike can't handle that size.

I haven't tried putting this on the rears yet as I felt the front would be the easiest to start with.

  1. Have you changed the caliper adaptors.

Those force will be spaced to maybe 160 or 180

So as a minimum you will need a +23mm or maybe even a +43mm to space the front caliper far enough away from the rotor.

I don’t think the rears will take 203, I think frame guide on Trek website says 180 max. Following this though as have an Ice Tech 203mm that I want to fit to my Roscoe 🙂

  3. you need the get the right brake brake mount adapter, Shimano has a compatibility chart you can refer to to get the exact brake mount adapter.

also it seems you’re only able to mount a 180mm rotor max for frame (rear mount), refer to the [owners manual](https://retailerassetsprd.blob.core.windows.net/techassets/TK_Roscoe_MY22_ServiceManual_EN-US_2021-06-29.pdf?sv=2018-03-28&ss=bfqt&srt=sco&sp=r&se=2062-03-20T02:32:45Z&st=2019-03-19T18:32:45Z&spr=https&sig=UogJIteiFltPX66np2M0a3esSu1uZzABYHTFInUlT%2Fo%3D) (pg. 5)
