A.K.A., Doctor Killers
Thanks for the training warning. Flying one of these planes without training, certification or similar seems foolish and irresponsible.
What a stupid title. Typical American who does not realise that there is a world out here and we don't have US regulations regarding flying. A licence is required in most of the world!
Stop advertizing this underpowered air crafts. They are dangerous.
still out of my range..dang it
I met one fellow who equated 'No License Required' = 'No Training Required'. FOOL! He bought his ultra light, fueled it, lined up on the runway, and rolled left to the bushes (No idea what the rudder did), 'Fred Flintsoned' back out and tried again. Same Result, right? Spot on, same result! Third is the charm, he figures he's got it. This time he gets about 20 feet into the air, veers left again, into the tree tops, and drops tail first to the runway in a crash. No injuries, but a large hit in the wallet.
No license needed but it comes with a coffin β°οΈ
Love the last one looks kinda like Draco Mike Pattyβs plane he is rebuilding as a bush plane!!
What would be the insurance cost for a Legal Eagle? Or any of the others?
what about us poor folks who would love to fly one of these? Not everyone can afford it. Is there a salution for that?
Well build a goldwing quicksilver and various other ultralights the dutch reichslufhart dienst forbids vfr flight looking at a ll these yankees and russkie freighters cheers einst
I learned to fly in a 2 seat Rotec Rally that had been converted to a single seat. It was an albatross, 32 foot wing span, stall speed 18 MPH top speed 32MPH with a Rotax single carb 503. It got tossed around bad in just a little wind. It had spoilerons on top of the wing for roll, and the wings were slightly swept back so the rudder would give you a little more roll. The tail was normal, and the pusher was nearly level with the elevator so it had awesome response. It was a tail dragger so driving it around on the ground with the tail off the ground just became second nature. It did everything slow, so it seemed like slow motion. When it came off the ground at 18mph and climbed at 300 ft/min it was like waiting for molasses to freeze in summer. I had an engine out situation, and I found a spot and could have taken a nap waiting to get there. I landed with no problem, pulled the plugs, called for a ride to get new ones at NAPA, went and got them, and it took longer to fly back home than it did to get the plugs and get back in the air. But anyway, then I built a CGS Hawk ultralight and it was just a little over weight. So I got a BRS for it and with the allowance I was back under. So I thought about the difference in weight of the Rotax 447 and the Rotax 503, did the math and ordered the 503. I had to lose a little weight so I got rid of the electric start and still needed a couple more pounds. I started looking at all the steel hardware and found it by changing 38 bolts with castle nuts and cotter pins to titanium AN hardware. I made the weight limit but the speed was awesome and the climb out went to 900 ft/min. So if you want an ultralight that makes weight and still goes 63 mph ( at 4300 rpm, VNE of airframe was 110mph) the CGS hawk is for you.
No licence for an aircraft, this has to be the USA, not happening in the UK
Le prix est complètement debile
In france, you need a licence for everything, whatever flies.
Next vehicle π the ultracruiser
The aero light looks like its taking off from the airstrip Cleetus just bought.
This is fantastic any joe or jill can by one of these flying egg beaters and soar thru the skies having little of no knowledge of the endless rules and regulation involved in obtaining an airmans certificate
This is somewhat like down here in Miami any joe buys anything that floats and heads for the open waters off the coast with no idea of what they are getting into
So if you want to have great videos from your go pro while you are exposing your life remember the go pro will survive any incident Enjoy your flight
great video.glad i found it by accident.here in province of Alberta,i took the required 40 hours class time and is all needed to fly ultralight.
Flew a Quick Silver MX back in the day. $5,000 with aux wing tanks and brakes .
John Denver: RIP
18000 for few pipes ,hehe
The scary thing about these 'no license required' aircraft is that you can fly them without a license . Cheers but keep it safe. Flying an aircraft has to be taken serious and every flight is potentially dangerous and difficult.
I wonder if there are any NO LICENSE airships/blimps?
great info, really could have done without the distracting/loud music.
They need to triple the weight and triple the speed and allow a visual only flight license without all the hurdles.
First off anybody that wants to fly and does NOT go get even minimal instruction and training before jumping into anything that flies is an idiot and responsible for their own injuries, secondly $20,000 u.s. isn't that cheap there bubba but will have to say some were very cool looking toys lol
I don't want people flying without a license! That's what I like about flying, unlike cars where anybody can get a license. A pilots license keeps the knuckle dragging mouth breathers out of the air.
Softer music please….
I donβt have a death wish. No thanks!
xlent choices
the pancake powerplants seem balance/best
those βgrossβ weights leave little room for a large pilot??? ANY IDEAS HERE?
No license? Then that sht smacks in to cars on highway or in buildingsβ¦.
I've done 22 hours of flying lessons in the past towards my PPL and the fact that these aircrafts can be used without a license surely has to be a recipe for disaster? Letting someone, who has never flown, up in one of these has to be dangerous. How do you teach someone to fly a single seater? Are there some laws to say you have to have some training first?
Correct training and following all FAA regs are still necessary .
Highway to danger zone??
No license per se required, but you still know how to fly and you still have to abide by the regulations. Don't forget, ultralights can must barely kill you…
I don't like how there's no bracing on that last one! π
