Got my Schwinn all set up in commuter mode. This thing has been a blast to ride since finishing building it. It has even survived its first (and hopefully last) time being hit by a car with only a small dent on the down tube to show for it! The tires I have on it suck, so if anyone has recommendations for a good mixed surface 700×35, let me know.

    1. Beautiful bike, those silver lugs on the frame are stunning, especially the ones on the fork crown. I also think Schwinn has one of the most underrated headtube badges of all time, it’s just so classic and clean.

For tires, could you fit 38s in there? If so, I’ve had really good experience with the Teravail Rutland in the light and supple casing. But 38 is the smallest you can get them in. But it’s been a great mixed surface tire for me, I live in Colorado and I have a bike that I just leave these on constantly and it handles spring mud really well but also does great in the dry, maybe not the fastest rolling but I’ve never felt bogged down by them.
