If you live in the Midwest or anywhere they salt the roads, be sure to wash the bike regularly during the winter. Keep the chain properly lubricated — that helps tremendously against corrosion. Wipe down cables occasionally… May have to check the bottom bracket and wheel hub bearings after winter and repack everything with grease.
Otherwise, send it and be safe.

Beater bike.. I have a moderately rusty bridgestone that I originally was planning on painting but I don’t got the time for that and I’ve got enough bikes to ride one out, so it’s going to be sweet winter beater

Keep it indoors, give it scritches & pets, and tell it it’s a good bike, get a heating pad for it to sleep on during those cold nights.

As someone who rides all year: ride it. Give it a wash every now and then. Bike parts wear out, they’re replaceable. Don’t sweat it. You got already fenders so you’re good to go.
