I’m sharing some photos of this restoration project of an old Specialized Rockhopper Comp from the late ’80s. The bike was completely disassembled, cleaned, polished, and reassembled with modern components. The restoration process was long and challenging, but I believe the result is satisfying.
A note: the stickers had faded, and to preserve the originality, they were restored with a special modeling paint in the original color. I’ve taken it out a couple of times, and despite its age, it’s still a lot of fun to ride! Seeing the finished work is very rewarding, especially considering it was almost certainly destined for the trash.
