Been wanting to get into cycling for some time and this one caught my eye.

I've been google searching and have found the bike on second hand markets, but in different languages. Haven't been able to find specs. Can someone tell me about this bike?

    1. A functional bike for $100 is a good deal. If the drive train doesn’t grind and the brakes work, I’d call this fair / a win.

    2. Seems like a very reasonable price. The dynamo hub and headlight plus the fenders, rack and mudguards are valuable for commuting or riding in poor weather.

    3. If it rolls and it serves a missing transportation service for you than it’s now priceless.

In Germany you see sooo many of these “Pegasus Avanti” Bikes! In my opinion, this is a bike that people who want a more or less cheap and good bike for the city to get from A to B. There are also many older ones around, so I think they will last a long time.

I have found [this](https://www.fahrradgigant.de/Pegasus-26-Zoll-Herrenfahrrad-3-Gang-Nabenschaltung-schwarz-Rahmenhoehe-38-cm/770190) page, is it yours? According to that the bike is from 2015 and has a Shimano Nexus 3-Speed. If you are interessted in any specific specs let me know. 🙂

Looks like a good find. Sure, the frame isn’t the best, but internal gearing and hub dynamo makes for a very low maintenance bike, 7 speed is enough for many usecases, and fender and rack make it very versatile.

    6. Solid commuter bike, the rear hub by itself cost more than 100. It will last you for as long as you want.

    7. Imho your bike is unique since it is made by German bike Wholesaler company that usually does not deliver to the US, branded with a label of a small German bike store.
This thing for sale in the US – wondering if there is a background story.

Zentrale Einkaufsgenossenschaft (ZEG). That had been around when I jobbed at a LBS 30 years ago.

Good buy, solid bike with good quality components.

    9. A working bicycle for just $100? Hell no you didn’t overpay. Could you have gotten a better deal? Sure, maybe, but you could also have gotten a LOT worse lol.

      Enjoy your new bike!

For cycling as a sport, this bike is not great. Full finders, rack, dynamo lights: this bike is fully outfitted to be a great commuter, though it’d be an even better commuter if it had a belt drivetrain. I think anyone looking for a commuter bike would be thrilled to get this for only $100.

    11. Looks good to me as long as it’s the right size for you! Seat should be roughly at your hip when you’re standing.
