    1. Hey all,

      Looking for a road/gravel bike. I would like to eventually do an ironman, but for now I just want to start with something cheaper. There is a 30ish mile paved trail near me that has slight elevation. There is a 70.3 at the beach that I got to that I would like to do next year, very little elevation but not the best roads. I am not going to do any serious trails or do any commuting. I am a distance runner if that matters.

      I am also considering the [Ozark Trail Flat Bar G.1](https://www.walmart.com/ip/700OZT-GRAVEL-FLAT-S/5822688264) when it comes out since it has a cassete and I am used to a flat bar anyways.

      I am 5’11” 135lbs but I have shorter arms so I am looking at sizes that fit 5’9/10″

    2. Roubaix if it fits. I’m not sure why some of these bikes are in consideration at all, honestly. Quite an eclectic mix.

    3. Are you looking for a road bike or a gravel bike? All of these are pure road bikes (skinny tires, big gears) except the Ozark (which is a gravel bike, but looow quality).

      Besides that, I’d go for the red Caad3 or the black Cannondale Slice. The Quintana Roo is a TT bike, the blue Specialized has been ‘pensioner-fied’ with that bizarre stem, and the other ones are way overpriced / have ancient components.

      Edit: ‘pure road bike’s doesn’t mean these are going to fall apart as soon as you touch a rougher road, just that they’re not really fun to ride on anything but decent roads. I’d be surprised if a triathlon is held on roads bad enough to warrant using a gravel bike.

      I’d go for the black canondale caad. It’s the most recent bike, so for getting parts it might be easier. Also it has a pretty relaxed geometry which might help to get in to the sport. The others appear oldschool tech. The Roubaix is missing a front derailleur, if you’re handy enough it is not that hard to fix, but imagine what must have happened to the bike to lose the front derailleur.
