Proving a hardtail mountain bike is all you need – 10 reasons! A hardtail MTB is the only bike you need so I ride my Canyon Stoic on all terrain like trails, jumps, skateparks and urban freeride just to prove it! Would you ride one?
Hardtail mountain bikes seem to get forgotten about when mountain bikers buy a new bike so I thought i’d show these incredibly versatile bikes some love and give you 10 reasons why you should keep or get yourself a hardtail MTB right now! For today’s video I’m riding the Canyon Stoic, an aggressive hardtail that sits at the top of the hardtail line up. I was actually surprised how good this bike can handle the big hits and how totally well rounded it actually is, after this video i’d like to say that this bike is slowly stepping up through the ranks and getting closer to becoming my favourite bike!
I hope you enjoy the video!

When I started mtbiking there was no nothing 🤣
it was you , nature , a bicycle and a big blunt 😋😎
I was about to buy a full sus bike but I'm glad to see that i dont need it that much, I'll buy a hardtail
I broke multiple dual suspension bikes while sponsored by GT… even on simple bmx tracks, 1:36 Went back to hardtail and won everyclass and never broke a bike. Was the fastest person on a bike and downhill all done on a hardtail… NZ championship early 2000
Hardtails are ok but i love my downhill
good points made about favouring a hardtail. will you do one of those crazy videos but while riding a bmx on trail i never seen anyone do this before.
I've enjoyed it.
What mm rise bars are those?
I would rather sacrifice my left testicle than give up my rear sus.😂
I got a dartmoor player 26 from 2012 jumps lovely
I think the hidden caveat in this video is…….In the hands of a world champion and certified looney, anything is possible.
You've got to filter out these clanger advert vids he makes… Maybe you dont need a hardtail and just save up a bit more for the full suss but hardtails are good for beginners and are less maintenance
With a thudbuster comfort is same or better than fs but you lose the dropper.
Used to ride the bike parks on a 4x bike 😂
my knees D; (says the owner of a roscoe)
Does anyone know when the grey pilgrips will be restocked
Great vid except can ya stop saying omg sam pls pls. Godless talk. Only mention god when you're praying to him, sam. Also people who use the word literally. Tend to be generally illiterate.
I love my full sus but I take my hardtail out way more often
get a nukeproof scout, ok, noted🦧
I've been sending my Sync'r at Highland all summer. Some trails are tough to get through with a hardtail but I like to prove people wrong when they say something is impossible! I've got some cool scars now too!
Sic video as always. I’ve just built a budget hardtail. It’s slacks aF but heavier than a bloody EBIKE 😂
I feel like manuals and wheelies are easier on a hardtail
Hi Sam, would you go for a 27.5 or a 29 inch wheel if you want to jump like a badass? Whats your stoic?
Honestly i hate this "oh, you need this full sus bike for this" or "you need an enduro for mountainbiking, everything else is not enough".
Lets face it: Most of the time you start with a cheap hardtail, about 500€ because you don't know better. And guess what: You have fun with it. And thats the biggest point for me. Get a bike and don't think too much about suspension, geometry or whatever. Get a bike you feel comfortable with and start biking.
If you get better and you have fun you can still get a superbike later. And at this time you will know by yourself if you want an XC bike or a downhill or something between 🙂
And yeah, Hardtails are a lot of fun, often more fun than fullys just because they don't make your live easy 😉
Hardtail + Sam = Crazy Stuff😅
Use an old Giant 100mm fully for XC because sat down more, Cube TM pro hardtail with 160mm yari and flats for all the rest.
I have subscribed to your channel for two reasons: great teaching and mtb skills and your great English for easy learning. Thanks brother Biker.🎉🎉🎉
Looking into the stoic and I’m in between M and L how tall are you and what size do you ride?
As someone who rides a San Quentin 2 in Colorado. They can ride anything a full suspension can. The question is. Can you?
I find full more for me also most of the things you said can be locmed
Hardtail for life
Hey Sam you probably won't even read this, but I'm gonna say it anyway. Thanks for great entertaining vids. They're so good. Thanks for not using bad language. I've got my grandson watching your great skills. Plus you don't use the JC as a swear word. Respect Sam lad.
