I’d go Disc Brake and thru axle (check this). This will make your bike a bit more future proof
I can’t speak on the Scott, but I had a Domane AL2 as my first road bike. It held up well on 100+ mile cycles. A year later and upgraded to a Carbon bike, but the Domane is still going strong as I used it to commute to work.
