Finally looking to pick up cycling again.

I've started looking around for new and used bikes for riding around my area. It'll be majority road riding with a light gravel/dirt park that cuts through the city.

I've been scoping around, it seems endurance or gravel bikes appear to be best for those all-day rides by yourself with a mixed terrain. That being said, any solid recommendations for a sub-$2,000ish CAD bike?

Previously had a Bad Boy 6 when I was commuting around the downtown city core – sold it. I'm looking at a brand new Giant Contend AR 2 2024 ($1,999), Cannondale Synapse 3 2023 new (1,799) or used (1,300), Cannondale synapase carbon 105 2020 used ($1,800), or a Orbea Terra H40 2021($1,650). Open to suggestions!

    I'm 5,10 195lbs, age 30

    1. I have the 2021 carbon synapse 105. It didn’t make my top 5 when I was hunting and bought it new last yr for 2900cdn. I love the shit out of this bike. Only complaint i can register is some of the other bikes I was hunting for could accommodate gravel tires and my wife wants to ride gravel now. Almost pulled thr trigger on a checkpoint sl5 this summer, but we rarely have time to ride together and I love road. I say go for it. That said do your due diligence with used bikes.
