    1. That’s a solid distance for only a few months of cycling, but without knowing how many stoplights were on that route and the type of bike you’re on, I can’t comment on the average speed.

    2. I’m not a seasoned rider and that’s about my average speed. I’ve only done one 40+ ride and I was tired af.

You have Strava, you should be able to compare yourself to other riders on the same segments that you ride.

Don’t ride against others. Ride against yourself. Get better against yourself. That’s a great pace for a noob rider. Just have fun.

No two rides are the same. That’s the mentality I go with. Sometimes I’m awesome and sometimes I’m sightseeing.

    6. Comparison is a thief of joy, don’t worry about so much. There will always be someone faster, stronger, or more skilled. Focus on your self and be proud when you see self improvement.

    7. What kind of riding is this? I presume some of it is on the gateway? Is this all Trail riding? Another important question is the bike. If this is on a fat tire bike it would be more impressive than on a road bike. But to echo what other people have said, just keep riding! I started out at this avg speed and then better equipment and fitness got me between 19-21 over 20 mile rides solo. Towards 18-19 when I go beyond that. A power meter is helpful if you want to track your bike fitness.
