This brompton hub gear indicator chain has snapped, I think leaving the threaded end inside the workings. How much taking apart of the hub will I have to do to get it out?

The main think is to keep everything tidy – in the order it came out – so you can reassemble it
(Or take it to your local bike shop )

You’ll have to get the hub maybe half of the way apart to get it out. It doesn’t take many special tools. There are YouTube videos that go through it.
Watch them carefully all the way though multiple times before doing it. Go slowly (small springs and pawls may fall out); and have space to lay out all the pieces in the order and side of the hub they came out of.
If you can, take a video of the disassembly process as you’re doing it. So if you do get confused as to how something goes back together, you can watch how you took it apart.
I was nervous the first time, but now that I’ve done it a few times it’s pretty easy. Go slow. Don’t lose any small pieces. You’ll be fine.
