Hi guys I just recently purchased a new carbon fork and the brake calipper won’t fit with the 180 adapter. The upper bolt just isn’t screwing in to the end, there is a big gap. What could be the problem? With the old fork it goes just fine

Have you tried turning the adapter the other way?

1) are you sure you have the right adapter? and 2) do you have the adapter on the right way? They’re not symmetrical.

Have you tried to switch the bolts? Usually there’s one longer than the other. If they are the same, just cut short/buy another shorter bolt. It won’t work until the calliper is properly seated

Possibly the lower bolt is too tight and not allowing the top to get started. Loosen lower bolt so it’s just started in the threads then try to start upper bolt. Good luck!

Is there a little nib on the end of the bolt on top? If so, cut it off, and it’ll work.

I think the ‘posts’ are in-line – essentially making this a ‘flat’ mount not a ‘post’ mount…
The paperwork with the forks should specify what kind of adapter is needed though?
If you don’t have any paperwork then checking the info online for the make & model should do the trick.

Try flipping the adapter around to see if it fits.

What’s stopping it from tightening up? Are the bolts hitting the bottom of the holes or is the caliper hitting the rotor?
Your fork says it’s made for 160 disks so if you’re running a 180 rotor and a 180 adapter that should be correct. Then again, it’s a cheap Chinese fork and sometimes they just don’t follow standards. On that note, you are a brave soul to trust a $80 carbon fork, you’ll spend a lot more than that on dental surgery if that thing fails.
