Isn’t the drive side meant to be longer than the NDS?
Installing this bb into a frame I picked up but the spindle seems longer on the NDS. I bought this from my local LBS so assuming they know what they’re doing and this is normal?
It’s usual for the drive side to be longer, but not always. Depending on what crank this bottom bracket was meant to be paired with, or possibly the cups are separated from the central part and it can be installed the other way around. It would not be unusual for a French made part to be installed differently than Shimano.
will explain all the alternatives better than I can

If you look, theres a difference in the length of the threads and additionsl matetial after thd thread on one side, wouldnt this account for the ‘missing’ spindle length.
