Stock photos of both for reference. Looking at a casual HT for riding road, light trails, and goofing around at a dirt track with the kids. I've tried a bunch and narrowed it down to these two based on feel but torn making the final decision. The Marlin is currently on sale for $849 (CAD) while the Riff is on sale for $759 (CAD). I do like the idea of having the lockout from the Marlin, but honestly don't know how much I'd use it.
Any opinions?

The Trek is miles ahead in terms of quality. You’re buying significantly more value in the Trek.
Basically every component on the Devinci is a lower tier compared to the Trek. Rockshox Judy vs Suntour XCM fork. Shimano Deore vs Shimano Atlus groupset. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes vs Tektro mechanical disc brakes. Personally, it’s a no brainer to buy the Trek. The Trek retails $1250 cad vs the Devinci retailing $949 cad. The savings also justifies the Trek.
