I stripped my crank arm thread where pedal goes.
So I went to a local bike shop and got a replacement crank arm that looks different but should be compatible.
However I can't seem to get new arm pushed in further than this without risking stripping the 8mm bolt.
Should this be good enough? I am worried that the large gap in between could potentially be a problem.

That’s how it should look. Did you take it to 35 Nm torque?
Totally normal gap for square taper cranks
Looks normal from here.
Back pedal and check the clearance to the chain stays and compare both sides, they should be similar.
Normal. My bike has a gap just like that and I’ve never touched my cranks. Bike is fairly new, bought just last year. Enjoy your rides 🙂
