    1. Lucky you! I wish I could say the same, but that dream is dead. Even the kids, same dead dream. I actually stopped biking in dedicated parks because getting to see other couples and families biking together is just a sharp reminder that I’m mostly alone surrounded by people.

Lucky! I’m a girl who rides and one of my prerequisites for dating is he’s gotta ride 🙂

The downside is you have to buy two of every cool bike parts. New carbon bars, make that two new carbon bars. Still worth it.

It’s generally pretty awesome but there’s one really shitty part I realized this past Sunday – seeing your partner crash is way more terrifying than seeing a buddy wipe out that’s for sure.

It had rained a lot Friday and Saturday had dried up most of it so we went to the bike park and it was open and most trails were mint except one. It was an older trail and a steep bridge didn’t have grip tape on the wood. I made it but it felt sketch so I pulled off up ahead and waited for her and I saw her front wheel wash out and she went down hard. So happy we bought full face helmets for this year otherwise she’d have a broken jaw for sure.

Happy she walked away from it just a little sore but man, seeing someone you love wipe out like that really sucks. Way different than seeing a buddy crash and being able to have a laugh or whatever once you’re sure they’re okay.

    5. My wife shreds. It’s awesome. In other news….what lift are you riding with your bikes in the first 2 pics? I want to go there.

      Edit: I see now. Trestle.

I should note that she was at one point a semi-pro CX racer and she’s much better than me at everything but it’s so much fun riding with her – she pushes me to improve and I love it!

Hubby and I bike and it’s our favorite way to spend time together! We’ve done so much adventuring and exploring over the years. 13 years this month and besides the fact that I’m pregnant and out for the rest of bike and sadly ski season, it’s a lifelong hobby we plan to continue into old age!
