Years ago I bought what would later be called a hybrid bike. This was long before it was popular to put big tires on “road” bikes. I put 38s or something on there and spun the wheel. It seemed to work. When I took it out on the road it would make a scraping sound from time to time. I took the wheel off and inspected it. Everything looked OK. I puzzled over this for weeks. Finally I took it to a bike shop. It seems that everything was fine in the stand but my weight on the frame compressed the fork enough for the wheel to rub. Rigid steel forks do bend slightly.

I’ll have to borrow that trick for my 26″ to 700c swapped MTB😜

Good bodge. Is the “brace” just jamming the fender up into the bottom of the crown?

Tukt!
That’s a cool hack! I need to try this!
