Hey guys,

I’ve had intermittent issues with my tires going flat without any apparent leakage of sealant.

I decided to try to learn to refresh my sealant and when I opened it up and cleaned it out I noticed a couple of things.

First, there was a decent amount of dried sealant along the bead of the tire and where the bead of the tire would rest. I assume this is normal and not a problem?

The potential problem is along the inside of the wheel where the bead rests. It looks as if there’s a dent in one part. See photo. It’s on the right side. No idea of this is a problem or how it could happen but I thought I’d ask before I put it back together.

    1. could be the rim tape all the dents i’ve gotten don’t leak air i don’t even notice until i look at my rims

    2. 1. The dried sealant isn’t an issue.

      2. That’s damage to the tubeless tape. That may be why you’re losing air. I’d reinstall new tape. The damage you’re seeing may be from tire levers. It happens to me plenty.
