I recently purchased a 1 owner, 22 year old bike and the seller gave me some NOS tires and NOS Vittoria Ultalite rubes. I have no idea how old the tubes and tires are but the seller implied that he got them with the bike so they COULD be 20+ years old. The day after I mounted them on my rims I noticed this red stuff coming from the side walls. It rubs off but not super easily. I've never seen this before. Is there any reason I shouldn't run these tires/tubes? They are literally brand new in the original packaging, both tubes and tires.
Also side question, why aren't the valve stems threaded like nearly every other presta tube that I've used?
