London kids are getting more active as a result of the Ultra Low Emissions Zone brought into force in all London boroughs in 2023. Great news for the health and fitness of youth, and even better for the planet!
London’s ULEZ is the largest of its kind anywhere in the world. If your vehicle doesn’t comply with the ultra low emissions standards, you must pay £12.50 per day to drive in the ULEZ. This heavy penalty has seen a huge shift in the movement of kids to school – where they were being driven previously, 40% of kids are now walking, cycling or scootering.
