Hi everyone.

Looking to add some Jones H Bars to my bike.

I’m wondering about the grip sizing when paired with my Shimano BL-M4100 brakes.

I’m looking at the 710mm bars. The Jones site says to use the 205mm grips for those bars.

From these measurements I found, it looks like it’s only 225mm from the end to the weld for the…uhhh…crossbar?

My brakes are just about 40mm wide when you factor in that weird little support piece.

So my question is, do I still go with the 205mm grips and just see if I can kind of “squish” them to fit? Or should I go with the 165mm grips meant for the shorter H Bars and end up with some area on the outer bar that’s not got any grip on it?

Ideally I’d just buy different brakes, but honestly these have done well by me and I’d rather use them until I NEED new ones.

    Thanks!

    1. You may mount your levers on the other side of the crossbar as well. Either way, go for the long grips.
