    1. I'm not a top box fan. Since I started touring I have moved from boxes to bags and I now use a zip up bag on the rear rack. I might change the bag at some point, as the one I have is not waterproof and the waterproof cover tries to escape on a regular basis. When I leave my bike unattended I have a large metal link lock and also a bike cover, out of sight…. Those services just outside Gloucester are owned and run by the same people who own the services on the M6 at Shap. Next time I'm heading home from a trip up North, I will definitely stop at Dragon Soul. I loved his old Ward lathe, that was probably made back in the 1930's.

    2. a friend of mine had his bike stolen he got it back thrashed dropped on both sides the insurance paid the bear minimum and wanted the charge him recovery he said no he went to a good independent company they paid up and paid for a new bike for him and he kept his old bike to so hes riding round on his new and working on his old bike happy days

    3. Rich & Eva i never leave mine i have data tag and triumph can be switched of so can not be used without key but slow them down good idea with locks or electrified lol

    4. I don‘t know what specifically it is, but I just enjoy your video style so much – it might be that you guys are just amazing 😂. Riding from Corsica back home through Italy I rode around 200 kilometers through „severe storm warning“ weather – that was 3rd degree fun.

    5. The soft bags look great…fasteners like expensive Kriega bags. Apart from being lighter than top box the weight is a bit further forward which will help handling👍

    6. Re security, I always put a second disc lock around the sprocket if I have to leave my bike outside. I would also use a beefier lock to tether your bikes together, that one doesn’t look very robust!

    7. A great watch as ever, can't wait to find what you were doing in Lancashire. I'd have had to take some deep breaths if my bike was blocked in, I once finished work and got back to the carpark to find a moped chained to my bike. The bloke didn't turn up for an hour and a half. By that point I was just bored so I pointed out he'd been very inconsiderate and it hadn't even occurred to him I'd be stuck there, I wasn't impressed 😢

    8. Thanks for the video, good content. I'm embarrassed to say that i live only about 10 miles from that cafe in Newport, Shrops. but haven't managed to go there yet. Will definitely have a ride there now. I have, however, been to Gloucester services more than a few times😂

    9. A mate of mine last year popped into a motel at a services where he was staying on his way to the Holyhead ferry. He left his
Tracer 900 outside whilst he went to check in, leaving his steering lock on but all his luggage was on the bike. When he came out the bike had gone. CCTV footage showed two guys coming up on a scooter. One jumped onto the Tracer, twisted the bars, and lo and behold the steering lock broke. Bike was put into neutral and the scooter rider was able to push the Tracer with his foot stuck out. Bike turned up completely wrecked several days later.

    10. We travelled back from Plymouth earlier this week, off the Santander ferry. We stayed with my son in Cheltenham, where I was able to get my RT1250 serviced at the main BMW dealer which is about a couple of hundred yards from his house. I combined it with testing the new 1300GS, all of which meant we were late in leaving, and ended up staying in Chesterfield on the way home, some 140 miles away in South Shields. Anyhow point being, we got home just in time to avoid the storms. To be honest, if the weather was as bad when we travelled as it turned out to be the following day we wouldn’t have done it. All credit for you guys on dealing with it! Did your soft luggage keep out the wet? I must admit soft luggage is something I’m never keen on, simply because of security, though on some bikes there’s no alternative.

    11. Leave the steering lock off…get a disc lock with an alarm as a minimum. Although in the Belfast premier inn I was up on and off all night and was convinced someone had moved my bike…….till I saw it start walking on the sidestand in the wind gusts….two Vespas got blown over and slid about 6 feet across the car park. So now ive got a disc alarm that I can turn off when the weather is shity.🏍️💨💨👴👍

    12. Damaged repaired/ stolen recovered vehicles are worth less and it will show on a vehicle check report.
Reporting it stolen even if you get it back unmarked 5 minutes later devalues your vehicle, it gets reg'ed as being stolen and that will now show on a vehicle check. Your insurance will also go up even if you don't claim.
A category (a,b,s or n) is only attached to a vehicle if it is classed as a write off. Insuring categorised vehicles costs more and not declaring a cat vehicle could void your policy.

Bottom line as you say is to avoid it getting nicked in the first place, pump as much as you can into security and make sure you always use it.

    13. I had my bike stolen and recovered as the kid fell off it a mile along the road. Broken indicator couple of scratches but as the steering lock was broken the insurance wrote the bike off as they said the lock weakened the frame on the bike. I think they make it up as they go along. 😂😂

    14. Great video…no, I don’t want it back either if stolen. Nan and I are loving the support/sponsorship/recognition you guys are getting. We are shopping for espresso machine now. Be safe guys

    15. Sadly this is how the UK is now days! The police don't seem to do everything about it, i now live in the Philippines and it's completely different here. My son still lives in Wales and has spent a fortune on an alarm system & has everything bolted down to the floor because the police are a waste of time. Love your videos my best wishes to you from the Philippines ♥️💪👍😉😀😁🏁🛺🏍️🐑🇵🇭🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿⭐

    16. Love your style of camping with all your gear. I tried camping in Wales and absolutely hated it! Then spent a night in a 'Glamping Pod' aka wooden shed, which wasn't much cheaper than a Travelodge, so went to a Travelodge which I loved after camping! Watching you go camping makes me feel I don't have to, thanks for doing that,. Good luck to you.

    17. UK is depressing:
      – poor weather
      – poor quality of road surfaces and potholes
      – even when riding in the country, there is no ‘views’. You have these high hedge rows that obscure any enjoyment of the countryside. It also blocks out light so it gets green and treacherous very quickly

It’s still worth visiting for those that haven’t but I would stick to Scotland, Irland and Wales. You can skip the rest.

    18. Personally I use hard luggage.. Purely for the security and ease of use. When camping I used the Oxford Aqua Bag.. Used to get out tent in and other stuff.. Brilliant bag. Been everywhere across Europe, and still going strong.. On the security issue
.. Totally agree.. More layers of security the better.. Had a bike stolen from the entrance of a hospital. Disk lock on.. Plenty of people around etc. But some low life broke the disk lock off, and knicked it.. Nobody noticed 🤔🤔🤔. So now I disk lock and chain.. Never steering lock..

    19. Your absolutely correct on the lock situation guys ! I use alarmed disc locks, plus two mamouth chain and locks when I travel 👍🏼 You can never have to much security

    20. It's so sad the world we live in. How a human being thinks to themselves, "You know what, f*%k that guy, I'm going to steal his Motorcycle (or anything else for that matter) and make it mine to chop up and sell" simply blows my mind. At the risk of the PC monitors on YouTube, I think we should go back to the old ways: Public humiliation in the stocks on the town square, nice big "T" tattooed on the forehead and for every additional crime, a digit removed in public forum as well (no fingers, no thieving). I had a scooter stolen many years ago and 1 year later the frame (all that was left because the parts and engine are what make the money) was found in a Police raid. Like you Rich, I don't want that tainted, dirty item back again after those dirt bags have had it. Glad you guys are back safe from the tour. Thank goodness I live in rural Germany where every Oma and Opa is like a Stasi agent watching everyone all the time….virtually no crime here and so lucky.

    21. Welcome home Rich and Ewa, you two were very lucky touring around Europe, while we here in the UK and especially Scotlandshire had no summer to speak of, just rain rain and more rain.

    22. I live in a very rural area small population and there is little to no bike thefts so I don’t worry too much. When I’m away from home I have a Litelok X3 on the front and an Oxford disc lock on the rear. I don’t bother with the steering lock as some say the bike ends up getting so damage when someone tries to break it off. I don’t tell my insurance company I’m using a lock because that one time you forget maybe just nipping into a shop say don’t put the lock on then the insurance company says not our problem you told us it would always be locked.
