This is the abbreviated tale of our mini cycling tour from Caen to St-Malo in Normandy France. An overview of our route is below:
We arrived in Caen (Ousiterham) late at night so departed in the morning after a quick stop-off at a nearby B&B hotel that also had storage for our bikes.
The main part of the 1st day was cycling along the coast and visiting the D-Day decorated beaches and we also enjoyed a visit to the Normandy Museum. After a brief visit to Bayeux (well worth the visit), we headed to our first campsite.
The second day was mainly small towns and villages with the exception of Vire which offered very little beyond a really nice warm cafe. Camp site number two was at the top of a steep hill and was pretty basic. It rained all night – heavily!
The next day took us towards Mont St Michel and this was by far one of our best. From there we stopped over again just past the Mont and then made our way to St Malo for a night of celebration.
