    1. Took a train from Shanghai, where we’re based to Tiantai mountain and did a trip from there to Ninghai (near Ningbo city). Arrived late on the first day so we stayed at a previously booked hotel (I’m still hesitant to scout for campsites at night in China) First riding day was about 75km with 1500m elevation roughly with mostly paved roads (eventhough the route said it was meant for 4×4 cars). Found the most scenic campsite at the top of the last climb where we were rewarded from that climb with a burning red sky (last image). Second riding day was (mainly) downhill for about 25km to the station to catch our train back to Shanghai. We were lucky that there was a typhoon hitting Shanghai during our trip and it only rained for us on the last day. The ride was also my first one with a new bike build (Surly Bridge Club).
