    1. Dreamed up this trip for nearly a year, the initial plan was for Cairns I have other commitments so hope to ride the QLD segment next winter, the grand plan is to make it around Australia. Absolutely thrilling adventure, the destination was my aunty and uncle’s farm near Moree, NSW.

My quest started off crossing the Great Dividing Range and through to the Lower Hunter which is Australia’s heartland for thermal coal, and into the Upper Hunter – a region renowned for it’s horse studs. Then tacked west across the Liverpool plains – a crop and cattle foodbowl, and over the Warrumbungles which passes 1000m+ in elevation and into The Pilliga Forest – a freakishly flat and uninhabited hinterland, and finally north into the Namoi and Gwydir Valleys which is big cotton and grain country.

Such a gratifying and humbling experience – the people, nature, solitude, grit and determination. This community was invaluable to making my journey possible, thank you everyone for posting your own journeys and advice. Glad to be home but can’t wait to hit the road again next year 🙂

    2. I’d hardly call that Sydney 😀

I’m planning a few similar routes. Interested in a few things :
      1. whether you camped or used accom on the way,
      2. how the weather treated you this time of year
      3. What parts would you do again and what parts would you skip? would you change your route?
