Happened today, bike is new, less than a month old. Correct weight spring for my body weight per Fox recommendation.

Right at the weld…super bummed.

Does it look like a warranty replacement? Going to the shop on Monday but just want some peice of mind. This sucks.

The joint itself cracked. That alone is a surefire warranty.

If the weld was done properly anything you could possibly do to crack the frame would break directly beside the weld. The welded joint should be stronger than the rest of the tube.

Since I’m not the bike shop, I would ask the people you bought it from.

Looks like broken weld though. A good shop would go to bat for you and make it right.

  3. I’ve worked at shops about 15 of the last 20 years now. If you were one of my customers, I would absolutely not accept rejection of your warranty claim. And almost every supplier I’ve ever worked with would honor that almost immediately upon seeing that picture. I hope and believe that you will be taken care of. This will be a minor annoyance in the lifetime of your exciting new bike.

I’ve only ever had real problems with Evil Bikes rejecting obviously valid warranty claims. Not afraid to name and shame, and I’m not the only one who has had issues.

Specialized sometimes runs thin on back inventory, so sometimes they’ve even upgrades customers to carbon versions to make good on their warranties.

Santa Cruz is also excellent when it comes to warranties. So are several other companies I’ve worked with like Turner, Trek, Giant, etc.
