    1. As a Brit, I probably have a degree of bias towards Keely, but I still don't think the WR is on the cards yet. It's a real shame that Athing won't be competing, because that would have likely helped both of them perform better.

    2. With a 400M personal best of “only” 51.61 (not really world class) it’s amazing she can run 1:54.61 for 800M. She’s a bit like Ingebrigtsen over 1500M who has quite slow 400M and 800M personal bests, yet is almost certain to take the 1500M and mile world records this year or the next. The 800M female world record holder had a personal best of 47.99 for 400M. Keeley’s a strong favourite for Paris 800M gold with a fast run race. If it’s a fairly slow pace with a burn-up over the last 200M it’s possible for an athlete with superior natural speed to outkick her. I think Keeley’s smart enough to take the lead very early, if required, and run all the others “off their feet”. If you take out all the “dubious” 800M times of long ago above hers, Keeley is very close to the fastest ever. She’s terrific for the sport.

    3. I truly don't understand how Swimming banned super suits very quickly but we in the track and field fraternity just pretend like all the bizarrely fast times are just due to improved athletes…I've tested the shoes myself. They make an unbelievable difference to events 200m up. 100m not so much.

    4. She is now the predominant favourite. At this point only ladies who I think have a chance against her are Mary Moraa or the 17y old wonderkid Phoebe Gill (as her ceiling is undefined right now). GB could well go 1-2-3 which feels insane to even suggest but it's possible.

    5. I’m an American…that has become a new fan of Keely. I appreciate how she kept her nose to the grind even when losing to Mu. I guess I appreciate the ‘underdog” trope…even though to say Keely was ever truly an underdog is crazy lol.

    6. Another good video. I think the WR is still some way off, but it was an incredible run. I do think Reekie would run faster if she improved her technique. From the side she looks good but from head on shots her right leg swings out wide with every stride which is costing her speed.

    7. Don't care about the time just thank god we have got away from those horrible 800m races of 10years ago Lyndsey Sharp bravest of the brave respect to you

    8. They should scrap all record's during the Iron Curtain era, it's not in indispute that all Soviet Block countries doped, and before the era of testing probably a lot of western athletes as well.
There should be two set's of record's dope tested and untested that includes the taking of substances that would clear the system in time for the major event's. They can keep their doped records, but allow woman a chance to go for acheivable record's not drug fueled records.

    9. I'm sorry but all the records that still stand today that were clearly during a really bad period of Athletics that was known for wide spread doping especially in parts of Europe should just be completely rewritten….so many athletes have been so far away from those times it just proves it imo. Mutola and Semenya were just built differently and even they are way off the world record.
Even Florence Joyners seems unattainable by women throughout the years which just seems to be dodgy to so many. Koch in the 400m is definitely one, the woman she kept competing against was basically built like a male javelin thrower! I mean every record that still stands from the 80s should just be reset!
