PLAY-OFF, SEMI-FINAL, 2ND LEG.THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2024 7:30 PM

    OWLERTON STADIUM

SHEFFIELD will bid to reach a third successive top-flight Grand Final when they go head-to-head with rivals Belle Vue at Owlerton on Thursday (September 19, 7.30pm).

Following their 51-39 defeat in the first leg of their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-off semi-final in Manchester on Monday, the Tru7 Group Tigers will need to overturn a 12 point deficit to achieve that feat – something which has only ever been done once at this stage since the induction of the play-off system.

But the reigning champions have been growing in confidence on home shale in recent weeks, winning by at least 20 points on each of their last three Owlerton outings.

They also created history last October by successfully coming from 18 points down on aggregate against Ipswich in the Grand Final to lift the league title.

    1. I count a grand total of two overtakes before the Aces sealed it… Two!!! That's an overtake per hour! And the GP in Vojens was absolutely wretched…

    4. Will someone, please, tell that Abbey how to correctly pronounce the first part of the name of this Sheffield suburb? It's NOT Owlerton as in the word "Oh", it's pronounced as in the word "Owl."
Where do they find these clueless announcers 😤?

    5. there should be a development league for the young lads so they can challenge the exsperianced lads a more instead of making up numbers it must be hard keeping motivation and enjoyment high when you not adding much to the score just my thoughts not wanting to pull the lads down they are the future just hope some don't leave the sport they do more than you can ask it takes a lot of courage after all, would have been great to retain it though, well done both teams.
