Is there a tool to remove the freewheel without removing the cable?
Got this hub motor with a 7s freewheel i want to remove it to clean motor but wanna do it without opening up everything in the hub motor to remove the cable, is there a tool for it?
I did this with the same tool. Doesnt the cable fit through the hole in the tool?
dedolent on
usually there is a coupling somewhere that splits the cable so you could just slide the tool over the wire. but i think you might have a bigger problem here. where did the spokes go? if that freewheel has been ridden, it will be torqued down so tightly that you may find it impossible to remove without the rest of the wheel – spokes and rim – to use as leverage.
the *good* news is because that hub is so chonky, you can lace up a new rim/spokes without needing to remove the freewheel! so all that’s to say you might have a few steps to take before taking off the freewheel.
Wow, good luck getting the freewheel off without a complete wheel to use as leverage to get the freewheel loose. The cable is probably the simplest thing you could’ve removed first.

Take the pins out of the connector.

There is a tool! Not sure how to do this but Amazon has one I used.

Seriously good luck. I hope it works out for you.
My fork rebuild kit came with something that’d work https://hayesbicycle.com/products/fork-service-tool-kit?variant=32139621040173&srsltid=AfmBOoqs6LSUUqNQRaLCKvjlsGnfDHStYUGJuG6twZUofO5tYE7BgbmW2_E
Oh, I see you are working on a Nakto. Wonder how much they saved by not using Julet connectors in their wiring harness.
