Welcome back, Llama Paws striders, walkers and explorers and come with me today on a trek with a difference – as I try and visit as many churches across Leicestershire as I can in a single day. All part of the Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust’s Ride & Stride 2024 event.
This walk I’m sparing you my colour commentary along the way, and have left the natural sounds of my hike instead. This way you can experience the walk as closely as possible to my own authentic experiences – although perhaps your legs won’t be aching quite as much as mine do afterwards! Come join me as I do a little good work for charity, while enjoying everything this lovely part of the country has to offer the walker.
The charity walk itself starts off in Quorn, in north Leicestershire, and then heads down through the various Soar Valley villages – taking in the many historic churches and chapels here along the way. It then heads east of Leicester out across the fields into the Wreake Valley instead where after many hours, and even more miles, your gallant llama trekker calls it a day.
My gracious thanks this hike to everyone who sponsored me, supported me or staffed the churches on route. It was lovely to meet so many nice people on the day, and the refreshments along the trails were an even more vital part!
Naturally, if you’ve enjoyed this walk as much as I did – don’t forget to show your appreciation my giving me a like! My thanks in advance!
