My Brompton bikepacking trip to Dartmoor continues as I try to wildcamp and explore this rugged and wild landscape in South West England.

So far, I’ve cycled from Plymouth to a remote rocky outpost, where I camped overnight.

In this video, I go even deeper into the moors with my folding bike.

I discover one of Dartmoors most impressive sights. A stone circle thought to be over 3,000 years old. While Dartmoor as a few stone circles, this one is particulary impressive for its row of over 150 stones.

But this trip is a test of solo bikepacking endurance, as I try to hike and cycle over 150km around Dartmoor with all my camping gear and my Brompton folding bike. Can it be done?

Ma’s fudge recipe (good luck if you try it & let me know how it goes)!

    Ingredients

    110g butter
    500g granulated cane sugar
    1 can of condensed milk
    Dash of vanilla essence

    Method
Place all ingredients into a think based pan or pot
Stir consistently on a low heat (don’t let it boil) until the fudge turns a caramel like colour and crystalises around the edges of a pan.
Pour onto a flat buttered dish and leave for up to 2 hours before cutting into squares and serving.

    1. What a great little adventure, amazing views and nice background music, too! Loved the shots of the stones and horses; are you saying hello to all the sheep and cows you pass? Could you keep your phone in some kind of waterproof pouch to avoid the charging problem? Thanks for the video and the bonus fudge recipe – keep stirring!

    2. Those drones do some fantastic shots… I would have carried a medium to stiff small hand brush to get into the nooks and crannies to clean the bike off. Subbed …..Dartmoor has got a reputation so you have to be prepared for anything there…
