  1. Picked this bike up, just got it stripped down and cleaned.

No shifters, brakes are shit, Stx derailleur is in nice condition but idk if  i want to use it, I love the bars but they’re super narrow. The fork is completely seized up.

Looking for some inspiration anyone might have. Was thinking a 1×10 drop bar monster cross bike with a rebuilt older fork but I don’t know.  Maybe some white tires? Sounds insane

  2. Oh snap I have this frame! At the end of Barracuda’s life they sold them as frame-only with really cheap-looking stickers instead of painted graphics or clear-coated decals, which is where mine came from. Some were even made by Tom Teasdale. Mine has the green SID fork and full XT. I kept it stock except some color-matching accessories and moustache bars.

I just picked up an A2X frame recently and am in a similar boat as you (white/mustard yellow colorway). Solution I’ve found for keeping cool old bars alive is extender plugs. Soma, Control Tech, and others make them, but I have had good success with generic eBay ones on my favorite old narrow bars (Bontrager CrowBar, specifically)

Levers and bolts look rusted beyond saving but those anodised purple cantis are really cool, id try save them, though a pain to set up i think they look neat
