Planning a 3-day cycle tour in January from Hualien to Taitung, to those who had been, which route would you recommend?
Purple route: takes 193 inland through east rift valley to Yuli before cutting out to hit the coast along highway 11
Yellow route: start on the coast closer to hualien along highway 11 before cutting inland from Yuli taking 197 down to Taitung
3rd option: Inland route east rift valley all the way without hitting the coast
Which option has the combination of scenic views, safety and with a moderate challenge? This is our first cycle touring trip. Thanks!
