I finally treated myself for a pair of Rene Herse Humptulips Ridge tires. Recommended minimum rim inner width on RH website is 19mm, some other stores say its 17mm, and the other RH tires of same the size (pictured Rat Trap Pass) have recommended inner width of minimum 17mm. Should I be worried about riding this knobbies on an narrow rim? Anything to keep in mind/avoid?

    1. At the risk of stating the obvious: don’t run low pressures. If the carcass width is the same as the Rat Trap Pass, the tread knobs will add another 1-2mm of effective width on top of that that will increase the leverage trying to pull the tyre off the rim in a turn.
