Surly corner bar didn't work becuse my brake and shifter lines were too short and didn't want to get into a brake bleed at the time. I flipped the raiser bar and slammed the stem to get low. Looks strange but feels great….yes I know the chimney. Anyone else running Drop/ bull bar alternatives?

I flipped / reversed some butterflies on a free frame that I made into a single-speed. I already have a single-speed with drops so i just was trying something new. I kinda like it, but still need to play around with it a little more.

The rear brake housing and grips are stupid because I wanted to try it out first before doing anything more permanent and wasn’t sure how much I’d like it.

Flat bar with inner bar ends. It gives you a more aero position for when you settle into a groove, but you still have flat bar control for bumpy bits or corners

Seems like a good proof of concept to test the fit, but I feel like there are better ways to get your bars in that position without looking so goofy. Maybe use a lower profile headset cap and -7 degree stem.

I hear Soma Gators are popular with the “I want drops with my MTB parts” crowd, I was looking at them myself for a bit

  5. If you don’t want to run new cables – it’s not that hard actually.

You can look at some swept back bars like jones bars – whatever you decide as a permanent solution decide it soon and don’t ride with that giant stack on your headset for too long.
