Hi All – I yanked my mountain bike out of the attic, went to fill the tires with air and popped a tube. I realized in my search for parts since that 26” tires are not that common anymore! I bought my bike 11Y ago, I didnt realize how much change there was.

Can anyone help me understand if I can replace my tires with these tubeless 26×2.3”? My current size is 26×2.0.

Appreciate any help, thanks!

  1. I love those LT3’s…they were an awesome tire. Great for road and trail. But what tires are you looking at? 26*2.3 will easily work on that frame. I currently have 26×2.2 on my 2011 Trek 3700 and there is room to spare. I just looked on ebay and there are still a bunch of 26×2.25 and 26×3 on there. Are you looking for a comparable replacement or more of an all offroad tire?

FOr the record…those LT3’s look in good shape still…and even if your new tires say tubeless…you can still run tubes in them….to convert your rims to tubeless…you’ll have to do it the ghetto way with gorilla tape…so, it’s not mandatory you switch to tubeless..and if you want to, new wheels are the easier and safer option.
