A photo from 1991 of my ‘Urban Bomber’ with the concept borrowed from Greg Lemond’s Paris-Roubaix ride of the same year.
It’s a 25” Raleigh frame with a RockShox RS-1 fork, wheels are 700c rear and 26” up front. Assembled from spare parts chosen for their reliability, including an XT shortcage rear derailleur, Suntour bar-end shifters, Mavic headset and Specialized randonneur bars. The drops on the bars weren’t parallel, but canted inwards, offering an aggressive riding posture. This machine was a thrill to ride – quick and durable.

    1. Doc Martens, a rotary phone with leopard print, a box of fine french brandy, a lonely slipper with its mate likely lost on the highway and some mystery garments all complementing an awesome bike. This is why the 90’s were so cool

    2. VERY forward thinking bike, basically what modern gravel bikes with suspension are like today. That is SUPER cool.
