What a coincidence. I was thinking about this today – wanted to know if this would work with horizontal drop outs. The eventful chain slack bothers me and i can never be bothered flipping the bike over and retensioning it.
I still love coaster brakes but I’ve never ran a tensioner with one. Seems unnecessary

Why would you need that? Dropouts won’t allow the wheel to be moved? I think a half link would be a better thing in that situation or a back-up handbrake in the front

Dangerous. Either run your chain a little slack or grab a [half link chain like BMX bikes run](https://www.danscomp.com/primo-121-half-link-chain-chrome-1-8-18-102e/p1157307?v=1118324).
