  1. The fingerprint unlock is kinda nice. Not super thrilled about the chain on the pro version. And, while the frame looks cool, there will surely be some tradeoffs in the forms of no place to attach a cafe lock, limited braze-ons for bottles, nothing to keep long clothing from brushing into the rear tire. I can't tell from the imagery but I wonder if this frame can take a trailer hitch. I see, though, that they fixed the seat post problem from the base version, though the range will still be limited. It also looks like it'd be impossible to swap out handlebars or light. But the price point is pretty good for a bike with GPS tracking and its other security features. I am also generally of the view that any bike aimed at commuters needs a belt or else a chain guard. But I'm weird like that. As always, Eilis is a delight.

  2. You should look into neck fans. I found they work great for when you're off your bike. While on your bike, I usually find the wind to be enough.

  3. Was curious about HOLY drinks as a possible biking drink… read the advisory that's NOT printed as searchable text on their site but encapsulated in an image using thin font on a green background that is difficult to read at the size presented and cannot be found by search engines…

    – Not recommended for children, pregnant or nursing women or people sensitive to caffeine
    – Also to be avoided if you already consume large(?) amounts of Green tea as part of your daily!!?!
    – And not to be consumed on an empty stomach…

    Only 1 serving a day…

    £20 for 14 servings or £15 for 10

I'll stick to unlimited water or squash and save the money for a bike.

  4. You could do a new series reviewing European bike friendly towns and cities. Instant coffee is less likely to upset your stomach. There are good freeze-dried coffee brands. Humans after three million years of drinking water only, but gym bros think they need supplements. They are a scam. But sure, people are brainwashed in all sorts of ways.

  5. Great city Düsseldorf! There’s a lovely Altstadt with lovely little restaurants… @eilis, you know this idea of @electroheads on tour is absolutely amazing… we get to see Switzerland in a car, a German city on a cool bike, a French coast in an Ami … Bristol as a deliveroo 😂

On the bike, I like it but while I understand the idea of the dot matrix screen (should work better than a LCD in sunlight) at that price I want a better gear system than an old Shimano derailleur.

  6. Yeah, cycling through a city at 33 degrees.. Oof… I went to the zoo this year at 33 degrees. SO hot.. Anyway, quite a nice bike. But nothing for your baggage, exposed gears, i would hope for a bit more for the money…

  7. Hope you’re Mum’s aren’t watching you two’s…. Helmets girls..! 😮
Great bikes. Great review… if you get struck by lightning make sure the bike is under 88mph .. 😊

  8. Your hot, but your nutz. I bought a cheap bike spent 700 on it and I travel 40 mph. Would have been cheaper if I didn't u[grade the chain pedals gears and brakes. So your obviously promoting to the rich, as in those who are not really affected by the British Gestapo.

  9. Does Germany not require bicycle helmets? Not sure I'd want to have a serious crash without wearing one. Suspect they can mod it to get it a higher speed although I still prefer old school non-battery bikes to be fair less weight to haul around as well.

  10. This sounds like a classic Top Gear intro: On today’s show Eilis runs over her phone, Richard tries to speak German and James gets really sweaty in a halter top.
