Hi everyone,
I'm Considering a fairly short notice trip along the Eurovelo 15, setting off from the Netherlands at the start of October. Just wonder if this is a little too late in the year for northern Europe, and whether anyone has any experiences of touring it this time of year – guess it's a bit of a roll of the dice?
Any tips welcome, as well as any other suggestions for other routes (we're quite flexible, but preferably catching a train from the UK).
Thanks!

It is a bit of a roll of the dice indeed.
Last year I left the last week of September from Paris going south and I had the most gorgeous weather with literally 0 rain until November.
I’m leaving this week, again from Paris, it’s already pretty chilly at the moment, but I’m hoping for an “aftersummer” again.
If you’re used to cycling in UK year round, you should be fine. Just bring some layers and decent waterproofs.
I’ve cycled a lot of this route in high summer and wished I’d gone at a cooler time of year and when accommodation was cheaper.
We cycled the coast of Brittany and Normandy September and October two years ago and got hit by rain pretty hard. Just now finishing a trip from Caen to Montpellier this week and there have been several rainy days. The temps are mild, so we’re comfortable, but packing up wet gear is not fun. Check the long term forecast and if it looks promising, give it a go.
I’m currently on Eurovelo 15 in France. It’s been HOT a lot until today when it was quite cool and rained a few mm. There is a few more days of cold weather and then it looks perfect for a few days. Dice roll, could be amazing could be cold and wet.
Unfortunately they is a high chance of misery. But there is also a risk of that as far as, say, southern Spain too. But better than being stuck at home watching TV.
It depends. I’m on the Rhone right now, we had days of 28 degrees. Today we spent all day under a tarp in pouring rain amd 10 degrees. Next week we’ll have 25 again. This season is hit or miss.
